The Firm
Princecroft Willis LLP is the largest firm of independent chartered accountants in the Bournemouth, Poole and New Milton area, with 16 partners and over 100 team members.
The firm was created when two local, well established accountants, Princecroft Redman and Willis Parsons merged to become Princecroft Willis in April 2005.
Princecroft Willis are specialists in Audit, Tax, Private Client Services, Corporate Finance and IT with sector specialisms in Charities, Dentists, Estate Agents, Marine, Solicitors, Motor Retail, Engineering and Employee Benefits.
The firm uses Digita Accounts Production, Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, Trust Tax and Company Secretarial Software.
Senior Accounts Manager Andrew Singleton joined the firm over 10 years ago. He oversees accounts production and deals with some of the firm's larger clients. Andrew is involved in a variety of special projects including technical aspects of accounting functions and audit regulation and assists with the firm's anti money laundering obligations.
He said: "When the two firms merged, one had been using two separate software packages and the other a single, but entirely different product. We needed to upgrade our systems and needed software that would address the issue of integration across the tax and accounting functions firm wide.
Digita provided the solution. It is very easy to use and to understand - the less technologically minded picked it up with little problem. In fact, there were no major problems with the rollout at all especially as user support was, and is, excellent. Digita listen and act.
Digita Accounts Production provides the functionality we require and most of all, it is highly flexible. From time to time we need to adapt formats for our own special purposes and the software supports our customizing certain functions.
Since adopting Digita Accounts Production, I have been impressed with the upgrading it has undergone over that period. Now it is firmly embedded, we are noticing significant time savings.
Before we were manually inputting data from accounts to tax programs but the integration features have saved a lot of man hours and improved our workflow enormously and have made a real contribution to the firm's filing programme. Overall within the firm, we are now 1-2 months ahead in terms of our annual workflow, compared with a few years ago and this is in part, due to improved software efficiency."
